karoo_images TKAG takes your fight to America

The one thing that we cannot say about Shell is that they are not busy. Shell executives have been on several trips through the Karoo to try and persuade Karoo municipalities, interest groups, church organisations, affiliations and communities that shale gas mining would transform their lives in a positive way. TKAG delegates and other concerned parties attended such a meeting recently in Graaff Reinet, where members of the public and the Camdeboo Council of Churches were entertained by a Shell presentation. It is a pity that the same industry tactics are deployed in South Africa than elsewhere in the world, but South Africans are increasingly becoming aware of the threats of fracking and we won’t simply stand back and let history repeat itself.
